[intro]2018 marks the first Engineer’s Week in the new National Wax Museum Plus and we’re planning fun events all week. We see Engineer’s week as an opportunity to celebrate all of Ireland’s proud achievements in the field of engineering, both well known and lesser known. And this year, we’ll be joined by two actual engineers to talk about Engineering in the real world, and how it helps shape the world![/intro]
Engineers Week at the Wax Museum Plus
Our updated Science & Discovery Zone is an interactive tribute to Ireland’s brightest and best, featuring an impressive range of extremely intelligent and high achieving men and women. Engineers play a big part of this, such as Henry “Harry” Ferguson, who developed the modern agricultural tractor and plough using the 3-point-linkage system, William Dargan, engineer of the world’s first commuter railway and Charles Parsons, inventor of the steam turbine to name but a few. The exhibits offer a visual and interactive experience, allowing you to understand the concepts of the exhibits on display.
Engineers Week 2018 runs from the 24th of February to the 2nd of March and is the perfect occasion to visit the Science & Discovery zone of the museum. Featuring interactive experiments, touchscreen information desks, informative wall charts and much more, it’s a celebration of the many and varied impressive feats achieved and discoveries made by brilliant Irish minds in the fields of Engineering and Science. Whether you’re planning a school tour, you want to inspire your children or you simply want to learn more about Irish achievements in Engineering & Science, come celebrate Engineers Week 2016 with us at the museum. You’ll be amazed at what this little country of ours has achieved! Our new science also has a number of hidden features of the augmented reality app Wax Magic
