To be honest, we’re not quite sure why this charming Transylvanian would possibly be on our list of suspects. After all, Vlad of Wallachia is famous for his charity work and being kind to puppies. Joking! Of all of the suspects, this fellow is perhaps the most infamous. His disregard for human life, his immense charm, his insatiable thirst for blood and his most fear inducing nickname, The Prince of Darkness, all lead us to one conclusion, this is one bad dude.

That said, he almost seems a little too obvious a candidate here. Sure, his evil nature is not in question, but he’s hardly known for his subtlety. Still, there are reasons to suspect he might have a problem with Santa. Unlike most mortals, Dracula measures power in the sway it holds over people’s hearts, and Santa’s annual, wholesale goodwill undercuts a reign built on fear. Perhaps that explains why the Count, famously brought to life by Ireland’s own Bram Stoker, has been brooding more than usual…it’s not easy competing with a man who hands out joy for free and doesn’t need permission to enter someone’s home.

However, Dracula insists he was the victim of a cruel prank on the night in question. Someone had swapped his dreaded wooden stake for a live snake (yes, just one letter off!) and wrapped it around him while he slept… a shock that would send even the undead running for the garlic.
